MA Responds is a Massachusetts initiative to pre-register, manage, and mobilize existing clinical and non-clinical volunteers to help in responding to all types of disasters. Through the website, individuals wishing to volunteer during emergency situations can sign up to join local medical reserve corps (MRC) units.

Harvard School of Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response (H-PERLC)
H-PERLC offers competency-based preparedness and emergency response educational and training services in all six states of New England, which comprise Health and Human Services Region 1. To serve a wide range of learning styles, the Center’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) approach expands on traditional on-campus meetings by using a variety of instructional formats and media. These range from conventional face-to-face workshops and peer study groups to virtual learning environments and interactive media.

The training curriculum is based on preparedness and emergency response competencies developed by CDC and ASPH. The competencies are related to a specific role or responsibility that can be measured against established standards.
